The Ten Commandments For Those Over 40 Yrs Old
2. Plan to spend whatever you have saved. You deserve to enjoy it and the few healthy years you have left.
Travel if you can afford it. Don't leave anything for your children or loved ones to quarrel about. By leaving anything, you may even cause more trouble when you are gone.
3. Live in the here and now, not in the yesterdays and tomorrows. It is only today that you can handle.Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may not even happen.
4. Enjoy your grandchildren (if you are blessed with any) but don't be their full time baby sitter. You have no moral obligation to take care of them. Don't have any guilt about
refusing to baby sit anyone's kids, including your own grandkids.
Your parental obligation is to your children. After you have raised them into responsible adults, your duties of child-rearing and babysitting are finished. Let your children raise their own off-springs.
5. Accept physical weakness, sickness and other physical pains. It is a part of the aging process . Enjoy whatever your health can allow.
6. Enjoy what you are and what you have right now. Stop working hard for what you do not have. If you do not have them, it's
probably too late.
7. Just enjoy your life with your spouse, children, grandchildren and friends. People, who truly love you, love you for yourself, not for what you have. Anyone who loves you for what you have will just give you misery.
8. Forgive and accept forgiveness. Forgive yourself and others. Enjoy peace of mind and peace of soul.
9. Befriend death. It's a natural part of the life cycle.
Don't be afraid of it. Death is the beginning of a new and better
life, so, prepare yourself not for death but for a new life with the Almighty.
10. Be at peace with your Creator ...For... He is all you have after you leave this life.
GOD is too wise to be mistaken...
GOD is too good to be unkind...
so when you don't understand..
when you don't see HIS plan...
when you can't trace HIS hand...
HAVE FAITH AND TRUST HIS HEART

Greeting from Vernon (Shanghai)
I do read it and keep abreast of all my friends in HK. How have you been? I hope you are well and that despite your busy schedule, you are happy where you are.
I have been busy too. This job is rather challenging but I do enjoy it. I am learning things, seeing things moving forward and more importantly, my Chinese has improved tremendously (by my own standards of course). I have even started writing emails in Chinese (15-20%) : )
My travel schedule is less hectic but I have seen it increasing with time as we start operations in more cities. Currently only focusing on 5 out of 34
I was in BJ last week and did meet with Wee Yeat and Serene. Seems that they are doing fine as well. Attached a photo of Uncle Vernon and Baby Isaac.
I even managed to catch an Olympics event (Track and Field last Friday) and was even on TV!!! (Yeah my wife saw me) Family is doing well. Kids have just started school much to the relief of mommy. We went back early August (and stayed for National Day), great break for us. Will be back again for Christmas
I will try and plan a trip down to SZ one of these (we have some work going with Shenzhen Dev Bank) and will try and nip down for dinner with you guys if time permits.
Do keep me on the email list. : )

Wa.......h......... finally !!!
Dear friends,
Thank you all for interceding on behalf of my family. Finally at 1.10pm Aug.19,2008 baby JULIEN was born and weighs 3.2 kg.
34 years ago i gave birth to Mark and yesterday my mind was 'renewed" and i began to see lots more and jus felt the awesomeness of God. My own delivery 'journey' was quite a tiresome one all it's my heart's desire that i wanted a boy so much jus to appease my "business" in-laws as in those days (maybe today still applicable) by having that you are a step closer to them. My 'nightmare' was when both my gynae and a mid-wife who attended to me just tell me i am to deliver a girl! wah......anyway story too long to continue. Yesterday's experience was so different long before Julien was born i already knew its a boy and the amazing thing was here you see Sarah and her big stomach i believe all of us are more excited now in how the baby looks like, wah thanks to God given technology, just within few hrs you not only can see the baby but we are so priviledge that we can actually physically hold the baby!!!
During my short conversation with Mark we now see how great God his, how he single handedly crafted/knitted each one of us in our mother's womb and so detailly done with everything so intact. Just a joke yah as i was praying with wai kuan i gently reminded God to add his last touch to Julien(still within god's 6 days of creation) lest he forgets and after 1.20pm yesterday was God's 7th day(completion) where he sit back to relaxed at his own creation and that is BABY JULIEN....Well, to me and my whole family all i can say is God himself is very pleased with his finished work.
All i can sum up about God for this entire creation is the lyrics of the song "I STAND IN AWE OF YOU" and may i just type out a few lines to give praise and honour to God almighty.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL BEYOND DESCRIPTION
TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS
TOO WONDERFUL FOR COMPREHENSION
LIKE NOTHING EVER SEEN OR HEARD
HO CAN GRASP YOUR INFINITE WISDOM
WHO CAN FATHOM THE DEPTHS OF YOUR LOVE
and truly i must say i really stand in awe of God as he even called my grandson by names 'JULIEN"
Thank you all for reading this long mail and hope too you are will stand in awe of god too for how intricately and beautifully you too was made.
Love,
grandma Sharon

Homegroup visit to Old Folk's Home in Kowloon Tong
As the evergreens walked into the hall of the Grace Oldfolks’ Home, members of the homegroup stood near to lead them to their seats. Some walked gingerly, others were more mobile and a few had to be wheelchaired in. We were excited to be there on the day the Lord had made and to reach out to touch them in every way we could.
Homegroup coordinator - Jackson Kwan prayed the opening prayer. He blessed the residents with health, peace and joy in the Lord Jesus.
Then it was time for a game on ‘pass-the-vegetable-and-guess-what-it-is?’ All vegetables were placed in plastic bags and when you guessed right, you’d get a prize! Guess how many evergreens got a prize? Six in total!
Following that, a mum to one of our homegroup members gave her testimony. Mdm Wong Wai Yee shared on being ‘accident-prone’, losing her balance and falling at home and on the streets. But that changed when she accepted Jesus as her God and Helper. From that day on, she could miraculously walk and not fall, and when she did fall once head-on on a busy road, she wasn’t hurt! “Thank God. My Jesus looks after me.”
Next Pastor Morris went onto the stage and shared on God’s love to everyone. “Whoever you are, God loves you and sends his son to die on the cross for you.” He went on to say that when you have Jesus, you have life and life after. “Call on Jesus and he will help you. Talk to him and he hears you. He is a good God.” He also shared that his mum, same age as some of the evergreens present, asked Jesus to help her in her old age and to heal her of an illness. Time and time again Jesus answered her prayers and helped her to bear her pain. Later pastor prayed for salvation for everyone present.
